Questions people ask
Do we need to install anything?
No. PlantSafe runs in the web browser on any tablet, phone or computer. Fitters add it to the tablet's home screen, where it opens full-screen like an app.
What happens if the Wi-Fi drops on the shop floor?
Fitters carry on working. Completed jobs are stored safely on the tablet and upload automatically, with their record number, as soon as the connection returns.
Can records be changed after they're signed?
No. Signed records, status history and the activity log are locked by the database itself, so they can't be edited or deleted, even by an administrator. That's what makes them reliable audit evidence.
Does it help with PUWER, LOLER and ISO audits?
PlantSafe keeps a dated, signed record of every inspection and service, which is the evidence PUWER asks you to keep. You can record LOLER and pressure system checks alongside. Records export to PDF and CSV for ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 audits. It supports your compliance, but it doesn't replace thorough examinations by a competent person.
Can we use our own checklists?
Yes. Every machine has its own service, inspection and repair checklists, which you can edit at any time. Build them in Excel and import them all at once if you prefer.
Where is our data kept?
On your own web hosting if you choose the self-hosted option, or on secure UK hosting we manage for you. You can download a complete backup at any time, and the data is always yours.
How long does it take to get started?
Most firms are recording jobs within a week. Send us your machine list and we can import it, set up your logo and sites, and get your fitters signed in.
